Central Florida consumers get low scores on their financial standing

A new survey of consumers? financial standing by credit counseling agency CredAbility finds the lowest score in Orlando, which scored a 59.47. Tampa-St.Petersburg-Clearwater, at 60.12, was close behind, claiming second place. Sarasota-Bradenton came in as the third most financially stressed area, with a score of 63.01, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Florida ranked fifth lowest among the 50 states in the five categories of financial life measured ? employment, housing, credit, household budget and net worth.

Nationwide, consumers are climbing back toward stability, moving up from ?distressed? to ?weakening/at risk.? Only 15 states scored below 70 in CredAbility?s survey.
